Christopher Eickmann, Composer, Arranger, Music Producer, Multi-Instrumentalist
Christopher Eickmann creates and produces music for contemporary media and live events. Projects include scoring films, videos, and animations, producing recording artists, recording, editing, and mixing audio, as well as commissions for theatre, dance, and the concert hall. Christopher produced, engineered, and performed on the album, In Love and Longing, which was nominated for a Grammy® Award. He is also the recipient of a AAF 4th District Gold Addy Award for music/lyrics and the Silver Flagler Award for his work on the Florida Space Coast campaign.
In addition, Christopher is a part-time faculty member at the Academy of Art University and the Art Institute where he teaches graduate and undergraduate courses in music and audio. He has also led a variety of workshops at the California Institute of Integral Studies, the Vox Mundi Project, and Leela Arts. Eickmann graduated with a Masters of Fine Arts from the Tisch School of the Arts at New York University with additional studies at the Berklee College of Music. He also received a certificate in Sound, Voice, and Music Healing from the California Institute of Integral Studies. Christopher is a member of the Society of Composers & Lyricists (The SCL), the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP), and a voting member of the National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences (NARAS – Grammys).
His collaborative album with Grammy® nominated recording artist Silvia Nakkach, Medicine Melodies, was released on the Sounds True Label in September 2012. He recently finished producing a new album for Sounds True featuring Grammy® Award winning recording artist David Darling. He currently produces music for Sounds True, Vintage Digital Records, and select independent recording artists. Christopher resides in Oakland, CA with his amazing wife Jill and lovable cat Jazz.
